A breast lift (mastopexy) addresses sagging and uneven breasts, drooping nipples and wide areolas (the dark area surrounding the nipples). This procedure recreates a more youthful shape and lifts your breasts to a higher more appealing position. Breast lifting also makes your areolas appear more youthful since a breast lift usually reduces your areolar size. After childbirth, massive weight loss, or simply with age, breasts tend to droop and sag downwards. In some cases, the droop may be quite severe and the breasts may even look deflated. If there is too little breast volume, a breast augmentation with an implant is usually recommended together with your breast lift. If you have too much breast volume to begin with (too big), then a breast reduction might be recommended in addition to your lift.

-You are finished with childbearing and breast-feeding and are unhappy with your breast’s sagginess.

If you plan to have children, you may wish to postpone cosmetic breast surgery. Pregnancy may stretch the breasts and reduce their size, compromising surgical benefits.
